Danish Musicological Society was founded in 1954. The society aims at addressing issues of musicological interest that is, results that may be based on scholarly research as well as the conditions of musicological research. It holds meetings, arranges symposiums and conferences, as well as being a publisher of books, music and the Danish Yearbook of Musicology. The Society is member of the International Musicological Society.
